You’ll also get to see the Atlas Mountains, beautiful landscapes, deep gorges, fortified Kasbahs, and traditional Berber villages along the way.
The private 3 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga desert will take you through the most beautiful landscape of southern Morocco, travel across the Atlas Mountains, Berber villages, Short hiking or walking through Valleys and Gorges, visits to ancient Kasbahs and ksars, Sahara desert where you will ride camels and have an adventure into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoying the beautiful sunset on your way to the Merzouga Berber camp where you will enjoy the Berber drums music, and sleep under a blanket of thousands of stars. On the 2nd day of our 3 day trip from Fes to Marrakech, the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes will be spectacular, so be sure to get up early to see it. After a morning meal and shower at the desert camp, you’ll be returned to Merzouga Village by camel or 4×4. We’ll get in the car and head to Rissani, where we’ll check out a fossil museum and stroll around the town’s historic market.
The journey then continues to many more Berber villages, including Mellab, Tinjdad, and Jourf, a village that is famous for its ancient irrigation wells. We’ll next move on to Todra Valley and the towering 300-meter-tall canyons of the Todra gorges. The force of the water may indeed find its way between the cracks in the rocks. Today, we’ll take a trip to Ouarzazate, passing via the Roses Valley and the Skoura oasis on our way to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, located 27 kilometers outside of Ouarzazate. Innumerable Hollywood films—”Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” “Prince of Persia,” and many more—have taken advantage of its stunning landscapes for filming. EXCELLENT Based on 246 reviews Brian E2025-01-17Verified Excellent Nine Day Tour of Morocco My wife and I just completed an excellent private 9 day tour from Marrakech to Tangier, via the desert, Fes and Chefchaouen. Our excellent guide Hammou drove us over 1000 miles through the country, sharing the history of Morocco as well as his own interesting life story growing up as a nomad in the desert. All of the accommodation was excellent (except the desert was very cold). The hotel in Fes was spectacular. The food was excellent everywhere. I would say the day in Fes was the highlight of the tour - what an amazing city! Andreea I2025-01-16Verified 2 weeks itinerary Morocco I am glad we found this agency when looking to plan a two weeks trip to Morocco. The planning discussions went smoothly and all our requests were incorporated in a tailored itinerary that made the most of our time in Morocco. All riads were spot on, with professional employees, ready to support in any query. Our guide and driver, Mustapha, showed a lot of flexibility and patience with all our requests in stopping for photos, reaching specific restaurants or touristic attractions that we wanted to see. We learnt a lot about the history, culture and customs of the Moroccan people during our trip.We couldn't ask for more to make this a perfect trip.I highly recommend reaching out, if you want a stress free trip. Will S2025-01-11Verified Highly Recommend Desert Discovery Tours! This was a once in a lifetime kind of trip for us! We normally travel independently and initially planned to book a desert trip from Fes to Marrakech but ended up asking Desert Discovery Tours to also help with transport for the whole trip from Casablanca to Rabat, Chefchaoen and Fes. Our driver Mustapha was amazing and the van was clean and comfortable. He was knowledgeable and passionate about the local area. We enjoyed the whole of Morocco but the desert was definitely the highlight. We stayed two nights at Tiziri Luxury Camp and it was amazing. Most travellers seem to spend only one night but we were glad to have an extra night. We travelled with our seven-year-old son and he loved it. We were wary to book a random tour off the internet but based on the reviews and professional replies to my emails (unlike some of the other tour companies we reached out to) felt confident and we can now definitely vouch for Desert Discovery Tours! Michael2025-01-09Verified Excellent: 4 day/ 3 night Marrakesh to Fes My wife and I had an excellent tour (4 day/3 night Marrakesh to Fes). Accommodation was high standard, driver/guide Mustapha was friendly and knowledgeable. He was also able to adapt the tour to our wishes, including taking us well off the tourist tracks. Highly recommended! alyssamac182024-12-29Verified Authentic 9 day tour of Morocco My husband and I enjoyed an incredible 9 day tour with Desert Discovery Tours earlier this month. Every destination was just as beautiful and unique as the one before. Our driver Mustapha was full of knowledge and great recommendations. He always went above and beyond with any question or request that we had. We both really appreciated his kindness and professionalism throughout the whole trip. If you’re thinking about booking a guided tour in Morocco, this is the company to use! We hope to book again whenever we make it back to Morocco! Thank you so much to Mustapha and Desert Discovery Tours for our unforgettable trip :) Karen2024-12-13Verified An excellent 4D3N Sahara Desert Trip from Fes to Marrakech Desert Discovery Tours did an excellent job in ensuring we had a great time in Morocco! We were transported from Fes to Merzouga during our 1st day. The tour made interesting stops for both photos & sightseeing along the way to make the 8 hour drive truly enjoyable! We stayed at 3 beautiful places (including the luxury desert camp) during the 3 nights. All 3 accommodations were wonderfully clean & spacious. Their staff provided a high standard of Moroccan hospitality - complete with yummy breakfast & dinner. Our luxury desert camp fully equipped with toilet & shower facility was in a perfect location away from the noise & buzz of other campsites in the desert. On the last day of our tour, we traveled from our stay near Dades Gorges to Marrakech. Once again the interesting stops made the otherwise long 6-hr drive fun!A special shout out to our guide Mustapha (NK) who was awesome! He took great care of us & was highly responsible & reliable. As 3 ladies traveling to an unfamiliar place, we felt totally safe & comfortable to have him as our guide. He provided just enough interesting nuggets of info about Moroccan customs, lifestyle, language & history & each site of interest, to whet our appetite, but not lose our attention.Importantly, he drove skilfully, ensuring we did not suffer from motion sickness, while making good time! He was excellent company, observant, thoughtful, sharing insightful life experiences that greatly enriched our lives and widened our worldview! We are deeply grateful he was our guide in this special segment of our visit to Morocco. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour conpany & guide! Frances S2024-11-19Verified A perfect desert tour! My mother and I did a short tour from Marrakesh out to the desert and then back to Fez. Mustafa was our guide and was absolutely incredible. He is so knowledgeable and kind and answered our thousands of questions! He was also super flexible and willing to make adjustments to our itinerary to accommodate our interests and energy at different points. The team organized a great tour, including wonderful places to stay. I’m always a little nervous about having a tour company book my hotels, but they made great choices. Strongly recommend arranging your travel with Desert Discovery Tours!! Alex D2024-11-13Verified An amazing and friendly experience across the Country We spent 4 days from Marrakesh to Merzouga and has been a very lovely time! The guide Youssef was very nice person, providing lot of information about the places we visited and local lifestyle and culture. Has been very patient with us and driving safely all the time.Very good and quiet hotels for the night stops and amazing food at lunch and dinner time. The time spent in the desert was amazing, listening some live music near the fire and also join it to play was special. All the guys from the agency where friendly and nice people, like hanging out with friends.I can't list all the placed we visited, as they where all interesting and beautiful! Some unplanned activity made the experience even more genuine like meeting Youssef's sister at the market, the sandstorm or help another guide to get the car unstuck from the sand.Definitely recommended!!Thanks to Youssef and Mustafa, hope to meet you again!
